Gemini#

laidback.moe is currently running geminid, a gemini server. To configure your own gemini page1, create a directory in your ~2 folder called public_gemini3. Create a file called index.gmi in this folder. Your laidback.moe root url will look like this:

gemini://laidback.moe/~username/

Formatting#

Gemtext (unofficial MIME type is text/gemini) is a reduced dialect of Markdown, but with the following differences:

  • Links use this format: => [url] [url title]
  • Only three levels of headings, the first of which will also serve as a title for some clients

Clients#

There are two gemini clients available in laidback.moe:

  • amfora
  • bombadillo4

  1. usually referred to as capsule ↩

  2. short-hand for /home/$USER ↩

  3. done automatically for new users ↩

  4. can access both gemini and gopher, defaulting to the latter ↩
